
Normal Train Services Resume on Lumding–Badarpur Hill Section After Mupa Landslide Disruption
The Northeast Frontier Railway has restored normal train services in the Lumding–Badarpur Hill section following a landslide that disrupted operations on Thursday evening (July 3. The landslide, which occurred at KM 51/2-3 between Dihakho and Mupa stations, brought down boulders and earth onto the tracks, halting train movement temporarily.
According to a press release issued by the Chief Public Relations Officer of NF Railway, train operations resumed around 9:42 AM on Friday (July 4). The first train to pass through the cleared section was the 12520 Agartala–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express.
Railway officials worked overnight on a war footing to clear the debris and restore the track. Help desks had been set up at Guwahati, Lumding, Silchar, Badarpur, and Agartala stations to assist passengers during the disruption, offering timely updates and providing food and water to stranded passengers.
All rescheduled and regulated trains have now resumed their normal journey. Passengers have been advised to check official railway enquiry platforms (NTES) for the latest train running information.
Only last Sunday, the tracks were cleared after a destructive landslide near the Jatinga-Lampur Railway station that had brought the connectivity in Barak Valley, Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur to a standstill.
