Silchar: Leo Club of Silchar Central to Host ‘Kalakrit 7.0’ Art Competition on May 24

The Leo Club of Silchar Central is set to organise the seventh edition of its annual art competition, “Kalakrit 7.0”, on 24 May 2026 at Silchar Collegiate Higher Secondary School in Silchar. The event is aimed at encouraging young artists and providing students with a platform to showcase their creativity and artistic talent.

According to the organisers, the competition is open to students from Pre-Primary to Class XII and has been divided into six categories based on age groups. Themes for the competition include “A Colourful Garden”, “Under Sea World”, “A Village Life”, “Unity in Diversity” and “Nature vs Technology”. Students from the pre-primary category will participate in a colouring competition.

The organisers informed that the registration fee has been fixed at Rs 100, with on-spot registration beginning from 8:30 am and continuing till 11:00 am on the day of the event. The competition is scheduled to start at 12 noon, while the prize distribution ceremony will begin from 3:00 pm onwards.

As per the rules laid down by the organising committee, participants must carry their school identity cards from the academic sessions 2025 or 2026. Students are also required to bring their own art materials, although chart papers will be provided by the organisers.

The club stated that the top five participants from each category will be awarded, while all participants will receive participation certificates. Organisers added that the competition has become one of the club’s major annual projects and continues to witness participation from students across the region every year.
