Silchar Student Arindam Shee Selected for Chennai Mathematical Institute With Scholarship

In a proud moment for Silchar and Assam, Arindam Shee has been selected for admission to the BSc (Honours) programme in Mathematics and Computer Science at the Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) with a scholarship.

CMI is one of India’s most respected institutions for higher education and research in Mathematics, Theoretical Computer Science and Physics. Every year, thousands of students from across the country apply for admission, but only a small number secure a place through its highly competitive entrance examination.

Arindam’s success has been widely welcomed by the academic community in Silchar and the Barak Valley. Teachers, students and well-wishers have congratulated him and wished him success in his future studies.

Arindam studied at Dr Kalam Institute of Science and Education (KISE), Silchar, for the past six years. According to his family, he developed a strong interest in mathematics at a young age and worked consistently to improve his skills through academic studies and competitive examinations.

Family members said his achievement was made possible through years of hard work, dedication and guidance from his teachers. They also acknowledged the support and encouragement he received from relatives, friends and well-wishers throughout his academic journey.

His teachers are credited with helping him build a strong foundation in mathematics and develop an interest in research-oriented learning. Family members said their contribution played an important role in his success.

Arindam has previously performed well in several major examinations, including the HSLC, Higher Secondary and JEE Main examinations. His selection to CMI is the latest achievement in his academic career.

He is expected to leave for Chennai soon to begin his higher studies. Members of the academic community believe his achievement will encourage more students from the Barak Valley to explore opportunities in mathematics, research, data science, artificial intelligence and theoretical computer science.
