
Former Udharbond MLA Mihir Kanti Shome’s Elder Brother Takes The Ultimate Step
A 61-year-old man, identified as Mridul Shome, the elder brother of former Udharbond MLA Mihir Kanti Shome, allegedly ended his own life in Udharbond during the early hours of Saturday.
According to reports, Mridul Shome was living with his family in a rented house near Sri Sri Loknath Temple in Udharbond. Family members reportedly found him hanging inside the kitchen and immediately raised an alarm.
Following the incident, local residents informed the Udharbond Police Station. A police team reached the spot, recovered the body and later sent it to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.
After receiving news of his elder brother’s death, former MLA Mihir Kanti Shome rushed to the residence.
The reason behind the alleged act is not yet known. Police have registered the case and launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
