Sonabarighat Bypass: Youth Found Dead by Roadside, Mystery Surrounds Death

A youth was found dead by the roadside near Sonabarighat Bypass in Cachar district on Sunday morning, August 16. Police have identified the deceased as Bishwadip Paul of Bagha Bazar.

According to police and local residents, the body was spotted by people near the roadside in the morning. Police reached the spot after receiving the information and recovered the body. It was later sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.

A motorcycle was also recovered near the body. Police have started an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death. At present, it has not been established whether the death was due to an accident, a medical emergency or any other cause.

According to a cousin of the deceased, Bishwadip, son of Dilip Chandra Paul, had been staying in Tamil Nadu, where he also ran a small business. He had returned to Cachar a few days ago. On August 15, he visited his home in Bagha and met his family members.

The cousin said Bishwadip went out on his motorcycle on Sunday morning. The family later learnt that he had been found dead near Sonabarighat Bypass.

Police are investigating how and under what circumstances Bishwadip died. The post-mortem examination is expected to provide further information about the cause of death.
