Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma To Embark On Two-Day Barak Valley Visit From August 31

The Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, will undertake a two-day visit to Barak Valley on August 31 and September 1, 2025, to attend a series of significant programmes, with two statues in Silchar being the major attraction.

As per the itinerary, the Chief Minister will arrive in Silchar on August 31 and commence his visit with a darshan at the historic Kachakanti Temple at Udharbond at 2:30 PM. Following this, he will unveil the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at Rangirkhari, where a public meeting has also been scheduled at 3:15 PM.

Thereafter, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma will unveil the statue of Swahid Mangal Pandey at 4:45 PM. In the evening, the Chief Minister will pay a courtesy visit to the residence of late Kamalendu Bhattacharjee, former Member of Parliament, at 6:00 PM, and subsequently visit the Silchar Tennis Club.

On September 1, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma will visit Patharkandi in Sribhumi district to attend various official programmes. Upon completion of his engagements, the Chief Minister will return to Silchar and proceed to Guwahati the same day.
