BJP Flags Off Sankalp Patra Campaign Van in Cachar Ahead of Assembly Polls
On National Voters’ Day, 25 January, the Cachar district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) formally launched its election outreach campaign in Silchar by flagging off nine Video Vans aimed at showcasing the government’s development initiatives and collecting public opinion ahead of the 2026 Assam Assembly Elections.
The vans were flagged off by senior BJP leader Minister Kaushik Rai, who said the initiative is part of a statewide campaign under the leadership of the Assam Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party to highlight the achievements of both the Central and State governments.
Addressing the media, Rai said, “Ahead of the upcoming election, to highlight the work done by our Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of Assam, a total of 103 Video Vans have been flagged off across the state. Out of these, 94 were flagged off by the Chief Minister in Guwahati, and nine such vans have been launched today for Barak Valley. These vans will reach every nook and corner and showcase the work done by the government over the last 10 years in Assam and 12 years in India.”
He added that the campaign is not limited to publicity alone, but will also seek feedback from the public.
“At the same time, opinions will be collected from people for the upcoming manifesto. Based on public suggestions, our ‘Sankalp Patra’ (manifesto) will be prepared,” Rai stated.
According to Rai, the vans will travel through towns, villages and remote areas, displaying audio-visual presentations on various welfare and infrastructure projects. Residents will also be able to submit their suggestions and demands by writing them on paper and dropping them in designated drop boxes. However, people have been requested not to mention any candidate’s name in their submissions.
The initiative aims to engage every community and linguistic group across Assam, with a special focus on grassroots participation in shaping the party’s future agenda.
