143 positive in Cachar, 29 in Hailakandi; 3 died at SMCH in the last 24 hours *
Cachar health department informed that 143 individuals have tested positive in Cachar and out of them, 134 were tested using the Rapid Antigen Test kit.
Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, vice-principal of Silchar Medical College and Hospital shared that 45 patients in the ward are on oxygen support while 33 are in critical condition and out of them, 16 are in ICU.
“Three patients died in SMCH’s COVID Ward in the last 24 hours and out of them, one is from Cachar while two are from Karimganj,” said Gupta. Adding, “In the last 24 hours, 10 patients got admitted to the COVID ward while 23 were discharged after they recovered.”
Meanwhile, the Hailakandi administration informed that 29 fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in the district on Wednesday, taking the total tally to 2,423.
Health authorities disclosed that of the 29 positive cases, 15 have been detected under the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) while 14 under RT-PCR. 549 swab samples have been found negative on Wednesday.
Altogether 1,240 cases have been found positive under RAT in Hailakandi with over 50 per cent without travel history. 1,891 persons on being cured have been discharged from hospitals.The number of active cases stands at 516.
