148 tests positive for COVID19 on Saturday in Cachar; 2 dead in Barak Valley
Cachar District Administration has informed that 148 individuals have tested positive for COVID19 in Cachar on Saturday. As it was a national holiday, most people remained indoors resulting in fewer tests and fewer detection.
Out of the 148, 128 tested positive in Rapid Antigen Tests. The district administration is continuing its random-rapid testing drive across the district and especially in busy areas.
Today, on the occasion of 74th Independence Day, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar inaugurated a Tele Medicine Centre in SM Dev Civil Hospital.
The purpose of the telemedicine centre is to provide medical assistance and counselling to the COVID-19 patients who opt for home isolation. Inaugurating the telemedicine centre, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Keerthi Jalli said that many a time COVID patients staying at home isolation seek doctors’ advice on what to do and what medication required to be taken, “The telemedicine centre would help them to get replies to their queries promptly,” said Jalli.
Meanwhile, Health Minister of Assam in his tweet mentioned that two individuals have died due to COVID in Barak Valley. One is from Hailakandi and the other from Karimganj.
