On the other hand, the Cachar district administration has held a meeting with leading citizens at Banga Bhawan in Silchar earlier today. In the meeting, while addressing the gathering, deputy commissioner, Keerthi Jalli said that the high number of cases must not create panic in the society. “After Guwahati, Cachar is performing the most number of tests per day in the state. Our strategy is to identify and isolate and that is why we have rolled out many rapid testing drives across the district. Due to which we see a high number of cases being detected every day,” she asserted.

It was unanimously decided in the meeting that lockdown is not a solution and the administration in association with the society must focus on generating awareness among people.
