30 new COVID19 positive cases detected in Barak Valley today.

A little while ago, health minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Alert ~ 84 #COVID19+ cases 25 Misamari Military Camp, 16 Kamrup(M), 14 Hailakandi, 13 Karimganj, 8 Tezpur, 5 Nagaon, 2 Lakhimpur, 1 Golaghat.”

Meanwhile, the officials in Silchar Medical College and Hospital informed that three more Cachar residents tested positive today taking the day’s Barak Valley total to 30. Hailakandi 14, Karimganj 13 and Cachar three.

This was Sarma’s second alert-tweet today. At around 3:00 PM today, Sarma tweeted, “Alert ~ 82 #COVID19+ 22 Baksa, 14 K’Anglong, 11 Chirang, 9 D’garh, 7 Dhubri, 5 G’ghat, 2 S’sagar, 2 Nagaon, 2 Barpeta, 2 Kamrup(M), 1 B’nath, 1 N’bari, 1 C’deo, 1 T’sukia, 1 K’jhar, 1 D’aji.”

Health authorities in Hailakandi disclosed that Muna Das, 27, Rohit Nath, 2, Gautam Tantri Paul, 23,
Atiqur Rohman Barbhuiya 23, Porimol Ray, 49, Rahuluddin Choudhury, 19, Mohibur Rahman Laskar, 19, Ayesha Begum, 2, Sujit Hazra, 26, Ripon Ahmad Mazarbhuiya, 20, Kabir Hussain, 23, Bharti Hazra, 19, Sudipta Nath, 21 and Zakir Hussain Laskar, 19, have all tested positive.

Barring two from Thane, Maharashtra, the rest have travel history to Bangalore. Of the 14 infected persons in Hailakandi, three were under institutional quarantine at SC Dey College, four at Polytechnic Institute and two at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya while five persons were under home quarantine. Two persons were home quarantined at Apin Part II, one at Pakua Punji Bhairabi and two others at Junglee Tila, Koya tea estate. All the infected persons have been admitted at isolation wards in the district.

75 patients on being cured have been discharged from civil hospital in Hailakandi, SMC&H, Silchar and Guwahati Medical College and Hospital. There are currently 95 active cases in Hailakandi district. 47 infected persons are admitted at SK Roy Designated COVID-19 Civil Hospital, 24 at MG Model Hospital in Hailakandi, 21 at SMC&H and one at Kalapahar designated COVID-19 Hospital in Guwahati.

The Cachar’s patients are, Dijendra Singh 49 from Masimpur BSF Camp, Sahid Ahmed 27, and Tazidul Islam Barbhuiya 19 from Borkhola area. Singh and Barbhuiya traveled to Cachar from Delhi while Ahmed’s travel history “Not Given”.
