330 cartons of Phensedyl cough syrup worth Rs 5 crores seized at Churaibari; Three arrested

A large quantity of cough syrup was seized again at the Assam-Tripura border in Karimganj. 330 cartons of Phensedyl cough syrup were seized during a search operation in Churaibari located along the Assam-Tripura border. The cough syrup boxes were seized from a 10-wheeler truck (UP 21 CT 6858) and it’s market price is estimated to be Rs 5 crores.

The 330 cartons contained a total of 33,000 bottles of Phensedyl. The truck was coming from Uttar Pradesh and was destined for neighbouring Tripura. Three people were arrested during the search operation. The arrested persons are Jilani and Anas of Moradabad district in Uttar Pradesh and another man named Abra of Meerut district. Police is currently interrogating the these three persons.
