75 bikers of the Freedom Rider Bike Rally to reach Silchar today, flag off for Mizoram tomorrow morning from Stadium

Freedom Rider Bike Rally will reach Silchar today evening from Manipur. This rally, “All India Motorbike Expedition (AIME) 2022” was started on the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports on September 9. In this rally, 75 bikers are covering over 21,000 throughout the country covering 34 states and union territories and 250 districts. Cachar also comes in that list of 250 districts, where the team of these bikers will reach and stay overnight.

The team of 75 riders in the All India Motorbike Expedition will reach Silchar today via the Jiribam border, after travelling through Manipur. The team will be escorted to the town by the Superintendent of Police, Border and health team from the Joint Director of Health Services. According to the schedule issued by the Office of the District Sports Officer of Cachar, it was said that the team will stay overnight at Silchar and the next morning will leave for Mizoram.

On October 13, the team will reach Silchar Stadium in the morning for felicitation and the rally will be flagged off from Silchar at 7:00 AM. The team will again be escorted from Silchar Stadium up to the Lailapur border for them to reach Mizoram. Nehru Yuva Kendra volunteers will also move with the team for 10 kilometres, according to the schedule issued.

After completing their Mizoram expedition, the team will again arrive at Silchar on October 17 via the Lailapur border. The expedition was launched by the ministry with the idea to have 75 bikers covering India with its crew highlighting Indian heritage and culture by disseminating the message of health and fitness while celebrating AKAM under the banner of Fit India Mission. Accordingly, the team will visit ISKCON Temple in Silchar along with the statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. After an overnight stay at Silchar, the team will leave for Shillong on October 18.

The target of the program as issued by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by disseminating the message of “FITNESS FOR ALL” and leveraging the theme “Fitness ki Dose Aadha Ghanta Roz”. Apart from this, the event will also focus on popularizing Fit India Mobile App by mobilizing youths of the country and inviting them to become part of this Freedom Rider-Biker Rallies by having at least 10-10 kilometres ride within their districts/blocks.
