
75 Positive in Cachar, 3 dead in SMCH; DC Jalli in PPE kit interacts with COVID patients
On Saturday, Cachar reported the 75 positive cases for COVID19. Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, vice-principal of Silchar Medical College and Hospital informed that three individuals have died in SMCH in the last 24 hours.
DC Keerthi Jalli believes that the late diagnosis of patients is resulting in the rise fatality rate.
The deputy commissioner visited the COVID ward in Silchar Medical College and Hospital on Saturday. Clad in PPE kit, the administration said Jalli has spent around two hours in the various wards and ICU to oversee the treatment process in the Medical College.
The media statement shared by the administration states that she has interacted with many patients and asked about their health condition. She has also interacted with the treating doctors and other staff at the medical college.
Jalli said in the media statement. “Patients are more or less satisfied with the services. However, some minor issues are there which can be sorted out”.
Dr. Abhijit Swami, superintendent SMCH and Dr. Vikash Shandilya, Deputy superintendent accompanied Jalli in her visit to the different wards.
