78 in Cachar, 11 in Hailakandi, Karimganj 19 positive for coronavirus
In the Cachar district, a total of 78 people have tested Covid positive today until 6 pm. According to sources from the Health Department, out of those 78 people, 62 came from Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and 16 from the RT-PCR test. In the Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), there are 84 Covid cases active right now, with 48 in the Covid ward and 34 in the ICU ward. Currently, seven Corona patients are under ventilation support while 26 patients are under oxygen support. A total of 17 patients have been admitted to the SMCH today and two have also been discharged. 12 patients are under home isolation right now. No death due to Covid was reported in the district today.
The Hailakandi district reported 11 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the coronavirus tally in the district to 3,535. With these new cases, the district has altogether 113 active COVID-19 cases while 3,398 patients have been discharged. 24 patients are presently undergoing treatment at SK Roy Civil Hospital, two at Silchar Medical College and Hospital, 83 kept under home isolation, three in other districts and one absconding.
In the Karimganj district, out of 778 swabs collected today, 19 tested Corona positive, pushing the total active cases in the district to 189. 20 patients were also discharged today.
It is worth mentioning that due to the Assam election counting and subsequent result declaration, a relatively lower rate of Covid testing was reported was today.
