২৫ ডিসেম্বর থেকে শিলচরে কুইজ প্রতিযোগিতা অনুষ্ঠিত করতে যাচ্ছে শিলচর কুইজ সার্কেল

With the vision to provide the quiz-lovers of Silchar and Barak Valley a platform to showcase their intellect and knowledge, the Silchar Quiz Circle is going to organise a quiz contest titled – “Chestionare 2.0” at Madhyasahar Sanskritik Hall in Silchar on December 25.

The Silchar Quiz Circle is an association of students from different fields including Bishwayan Bhattacharjee from Gauhati Medical College, Kritiman Roy from NIT, Silchar, Chayanika Dhar from St. Xaviers, Kolkata, Jnanendra Das from Gurucharan College and Prashanta Purkayastha from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra. Nilotpal Bhattacharjee, a former journalist from Barak Valley and well-known quiz master, is its adviser.

Speaking to Barak Bulletin, Nilotpal Bhattacharjee said the main objective of organising the contest is to revive the quizzing culture in Silchar and Barak Valley and provide a platform to the quiz-lovers to showcase their talent.

“The culture of organising quiz contests in Silchar, sadly, is very much on the verge of perishing in history. Soon it will become ‘a thing of the past’ if initiatives are not taken to rekindle it,” he said.

About the contest, he said the entry fee will be free and teams participating in the contest can have a maximum of three players. One slot will be reserved for women in the final round, he said, adding that they would come up with such contests from time to time in the future.

He, on behalf of the group, also expressed his thankfulness to Educile Tutors and Basanti Drugs for their love and support in organising the quizzing extravaganza.

The group had organised a two-day quiz festival in Silchar before Durga Puja, which evoked a warm response from quiz-lovers of the town. Prior to that, a quiz competition was organised by the group members in 2017.
