2.4 lakh fake currency notes recovered from two in Karimganj
Karimganj Police on Thursday, arrested two persons from Sarisha of the district and recovered fake currency notes of around 2.4 lakh from their possession.
According to the reports, Police launched an operation, based on intelligence input, and was successful to intercept a car bearing registration number ML-04B-5065 from which the fake notes were recovered. The arrested persons were identified as Selim Uddin and Zakir Hussain and are reportedly resident of Ratabari.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered at the Karimganj police station. Officials will interrogate the duo further to know more about that their modus operandi. According to a source, Zakir Hussain is the most wanted criminal in Tripura and several cases have been registered against him under the Narcotics, Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985.
