NF Railway to convert Barak Bramhaputra Express from conventional to LHB from Feb 24; traveling to become more comfortable
Giving more comfort to the passengers, traveling between Silchar and Dibrugarh, the Northeast Frontier Railway is all set to upgrade 15944/15943 Barak Brahmaputra Express from conventional to LHB (Linke Hoffman Busch) rake w.e.f 24th February.
The inaugural run of the train has been scheduled from Dibrugarh on 24th February whereas from Silchar it will be on 25th February 2020.
The upgraded rake will compose of 20 coaches, out of which 8 will be sleeper coach, 6-second class, 1 AC 2 tier, 3 AC 3 tier, and 2 luggage cum generator car.
It can be mentioned here that Barak- Brahmaputra Express will be second LHB train for Silchar after the upgradation of Poorvotar Samparkranti Express to LHB last December.
LHB coaches are new generation passenger type coaches, which are lighter in weight, have higher carrying capacity with better safety features. It was introduced in the year 2000, for the first time on Indian Railways’ network.
The LHB coaches also support anti-climbing features, which helps to avoid piling up of coaches on top of each other in case of any rail accident, therefore, reducing the chances of deaths and injuries.
