3 BSF Jawans from two camps, 1 baby among 10 new COVID positive cases in Cachar; 22 in Hailakandi

Officials in Silchar Medical College and Hospital and Cachar district administration informed that 10 new COVID positive cases have been diagnosed today from the district. Among them, there are three BSF jawans from two different camps and a year-old baby.

Aryan (Name Changed) Roy 1-year-old resident of National Highway Road Silchar who recently traveled back from Delhi tested positive.

On the other hand, the number of BSF Jawans to test COVID Positive continues to grow. Dholcherra BSF camp’s Ram Sudhir Singh and Bharat Singh tested positive to add to the tally. BSF Kathal Road camp’s Joshi Akura has also tested positive. All of them have a travel history to different parts of the country.

The six other to test positive from Cachar district are. Pintu Roy (23) of Dwarbond, Jakir Hussain Barbhuiya (23) Joy Nagar, Ajibun Nessa (30) Banskandi, Azizur Rahman (23) Ranighat-Sonai, Miyazul Haq Ahmed (28) Hatikhal – Notun Kanchanpur, Masum Ahmed (26) Niyaigram

Meanwhile, authorities in Hailakandi District Administration informed that 22 fresh COVID-19 novel coronavirus positive cases have been detected in the district on Monday, taking the total tally to 289, including two deaths.

Joynul Islam Laskar 20, Abdul Salam Laskar, 32, Jaidur Rohman, 24, Santoo Das, 24, Gita Das, 38, Salimuddin Choudhury, 24, Salimuddin Barbhuiya, 34, Khaleda Begum Laskar, 3, Mostafa Ahmed Laskar, 27, Hanifuddin Barbhuiya, 23, Sadik Ahmed Laskar, 23, Lili Begum, 23, Joynul Hoque Laskar, 22, Istaque Hussain, 26, Abida Fatima Laskar, 23, Izyear Hussain, 20, Afjol Hussain Laskar, 21, Sekh Azmir  Hussain, 21, Marufa Begum Barbhuiya, 3, Amir Hussain, 24, Sahid Ahmed Barbhuiya,18, and Taslim Fathima Choudhury, 20, have all turned out to be positive.

Of the 22 COVID-19 infected persons reported on Monday, 14 were under institutional quarantine facility at Panchgram Town High School, one at DIET quarantine centre, three under home quarantine at Harishnagar Part 3, one at Purba Sonapur Bojantipur Part 2, one at Karicherra Shampur, one at Lakhirbond Part 1 and a GNM nurse at Matijuri.
