Sept 15 COVID Update: No death in SMCH, 25 discharged against 7 new admission; 134 positive in Barak
The COVID 19 numbers of Barak Valley have started to look far better than what it used to be a month back. In the last 24 hours, seven patients took admission to the various COVID wards in Silchar Medical College and Hospital which caters to the symptomatice and critical patients. At the same time, 25 patients were discharged after they recovered from the infection caused by the coronavirus.
Currently, there are 162 patients in the SMCH’s COVID wards. Of them, 16 are in ICU and one have been placed under ventilation. Vice-principal, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta informed that 25 patients are in critical condition and 35 are in oxygen support. He added, “In the last 24 hours, there was no death in the COVID wards at Silchar Medical College and Hospital.”
Cachar health department informed that 85 individuals tested positive on Tuesday in the district. 72 of them were tested positive on the Rapid Antigent Test Kit. On Tuesday 1260 samples were tested using the Rapid antigen test kits.
25 fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in Hailakandi on Tuesday, taking the district’s total tally to 2,806.
Health authorities in Hailakandi disclosed that of the 25 positive cases, 24:have been detected under the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) while one under RT-PCR. 607 swab samples were taken on Tuesday.
In Karimganj district, 624 samples were tested using the Rapid Antigen Kit. The administration informed that 24 individuals have tested positive on Tuesday.
At the same time, 67 patients were discharged from various COVID care centres in Karimganj.
