Indian Flag in dustbin: Controversy in Sonai Municipality

The spotting of Indian flags in the dustbin of a government office has created a bickering environment in the Sonai area of Cachar District. On Thursday morning two youths of the area discovered the Indian flags dumped in a dustbin inside the office of the Sonai Municipality. When they questioned the office bearers and staff of that office, they had no answers as well. Disrespecting the national flag was gobsmacking for the people who gathered for various works in the office.

After a huge commotion and when the situation got bitter, Police was informed about the same and Assam Police officers from Sonai Police Station rushed to the spot. Under the supervision of the Police, the flags were taken out of the dustbin and into their custody. When the police questioned the salaried employees of that office, they were dumbfounded. None of them seemed to know anything about this scandalous disrespect to the National Flag.

What is being suspected by the police is that, when a few days back members of different political parties came into the office with rallies to file their nomination, someone might have thrown these small-size flags into the dumpster. The gathered locals questioned the staff members and said, “If you can run your family with the money of this country, why can’t you protect our national symbols from disrespect? Someone might spit in the dustbin and what not”. After this whole scene, the flags were washed and restored to their glory, while the police is investigating this matter.
