Water Resources minister Pijush Hazarika’s three day Barak Valley visit to begin on Wednesday

Minister for Water Resources, Pijush Hazarika will arrive in Silchar on July 20, Wednesday. He will be in Barak Valley for three days and will also visit Hailakandi and Karimganj districts apart from Cachar. The purpose of his visit is to assess the situation in the flood affected areas of these three districts.

The minister will also visit the controversial dyke at Bethukandi to observe the damage. After which, he will visit Uttar Krishnapur which was also devastated by floods. He will leave for Guwahati from Lakhipur on the July 22.

On his first day, after arriving in Silchar from Shillong in the morning, the minister will arrive at Gumrah and leave for the Indo-Bangladesh border, post which he will travel to Silchar Circuit House, where a lunch has also been planned for him.

Hazarika will then travel to Bethukandi and then Badrighat and Berenga Ring Bund. The minister will then arrive at Karimganj Circuit House for a dinner with the authorities.
