7,936 marked absent in Cachar, highest in Assam; Day two of direct recruitment test
Cachar continues to report the highest number of absents in the State for the direct recruitment test. Today, there were tests for the grade III examination and the number of absents skyrocketed again.
There were two papers today – paper III and paper IV. 56,401 candidates registered to take Paper III and 5,852 candidates were marked absent.
Similarly, paper IV had 23,649 registered candidates and 2,084 did not turn up and thus were marked absent. The total number of absents on August 28 stood at 7,936.
It is worth mentioning here that there is no centre in Hailakandi and Karimganj districts. Last Sunday, when the number of absents was 5,528, it was assumed that due to traffic jams, the candidates from Hailakandi and Karimganj could not reach.
However, this time the government provided an examination special train and no entry was clamped all across to ensure smooth passage to the examination centres. It turns out, that didn’t help.
