Possible Eviction Drive: District administration warns encroachers to vacate Rangirkhal and Singirkhal areas
The District Administration of Cachar has announced on Friday to vacate the illegally occupied land near the Rangirkhal and Singirkhal. This announcement has come from the Information and Public Realtion’s Office with order from the Circle Officer of the Sadar Revenue Circle.
The announcement by the Circle Office read, “This is to inform all the residents of Rangirkhal and Singirkhal who have occupied government land, to vacate it immediately. Anyone who has illegally occupied the land of the streams must vacate the land without delay or else legal actions will be taken against them”. The order was passed by the Sadar Circle Officer on September 1, 2022.
Rangirkhal and Singirkhal are the primary channels which drain out the wastewater and rainwater from the urban areas of the town. These channels have been a major concern since a long time as people living nearby have occupied the land over these streams by building toilets or even extension of their buildings. Waste has also been a major concern which obstructs the natural flow of these streams. All these result in urban deluge during the monsoon seasons every year.
