
GC College’s Zoology department organises cultural gala Rhapsody, stages various acts
The Zoology department of Gurucharan College has organized its cultural gala on September 28. The cultural fest, “Rhapsody” was also the farewell ceremony for the final-year students of the department. The celebration was organised in the auditorium of the college on that day. The event had various cultural performances by the faculty and students of the department which included dance, music and a skit as well.
The Principal of the college Dr Bibhas Deb was present as the chief guest along with Dr Mihir Ranjan Nath, the Vice Principal and Dr Nilendu Dhar, Head of the Department of Zoology of the college. The program started with the lighting of the lamp and the inaugural performance by Sujoy Haldar, a faculty member of the department.
The program also had various group dance and song performances by the students of the department. The farewell ceremony of the outgoing batch was clubbed with the Rhapsody where souvenirs were presented to the outgoing batch by the department.
A skit on environmental awareness and hygiene was staged, written by Subhadeed Acharya and Suryadeep Bhattacharjee. Swaprakash Paul also presented a self-composed poem for the outgoing batch. The event was hosted by Kaustav Purkasthya and Suryadeep Bhattacahrjee.
