8 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants pushed back through Sutarkandi borders in Karimganj

As many as eight illegal immigrants arrested at different times from different parts of the State have been pushed back today to Bangladesh. Six of them were locked up in Silchar Central Jail after they were caught traveling to India without proper documents. Two were at the lockup in Kamrup and all of them have been handed over to the Bangladesh administration.

Following a diplomatic discussion between the two countries, the decision to deport was taken. Mohammed Lal Mia Kazi, a 60-year-old resident of Rajsahi district, Lalon Mia (30) of Moulvibazar district, Mohib Uddin, 29, of Kumarshail in Baralekha area, Atabur Rahman, 24, of Bubartal, Abdul Matin, 27, of Sylhet district, Farid Alam alias Akash, 23, of Cox’s Bazar district were at Silchar Central Jail.

Faima Begum and Rahim Mia were kept in Kamrup district and have been brought to Karimganj along with others to be deported.

Additional SP of Border, Cachar, Pradeep Konwar informed that only of the six in Silchar Central Jail were arrested in Cachar, the rest were arrested from different parts of Barak Valley. Today morning, all six of them were released from Silchar Central Jail as they left for the Sutarkandi border escorted by the cops.
