Karimganj Additional SP and team confiscate heroin worth 12 crores from secret chamber; vehicle driver apprehended
A fresh drug bust was made today in an operation led by additional SP of Karimganj. In the same 1.5 kilogram drugs of approx 12 crore was made.
ASP Partha Pratim Das and his team successfully confiscated a huge amount of heroin from the secret chambers of a vehicle. The operation was held in the Assam-Miroram-Tripura tri-junction on the outskirts of Karimganj after a day-long investigation on November 11. One person has also been arrested in this regard by the police and the vehicle was taken into the custody of the police.
According to the police information, based on secret intel, a team set up an anti-narcotic operation. During the process, the police officers intercepted a Bolero four-wheeler bearing registration number MZ01G3542. The vehicle was coming from Mizoram to Assam.
During the search operation of the vehicle, the police found a secret chamber built under the flooring of the car. A total of 117 soap cases filled with suspected heroin were recovered by the police from the secret chamber. The confiscated heroin weighs 1.5 kilograms.
IPS Parth Pratim Das told Barak Bulletin that the approximate market value of the drug goes up to 12 crores rupees. Samir Uddin of Kabul Dubri under Nilambazar Police Station was apprehended in this regard, who was driving the vehicle under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
