17-year-old boy goes missing after drowning in Barak river at Katigorah
A youth went missing after going to Katigorah river for bathing. The incident occured at Katigorah’s Siyaltek. The SDRF have launched an operation to rescue this youth named Biprojit Deb aged 17 years. Biprojit is a resident of Rangpur and a 2nd year student of Cachar College.
As per reports, Biprojit went to a relative’s house in Siyaltek for attending a wedding on Thursday. On Friday afternoon, he went to the Barak river near his relative’s house alongwith his relatives for bathing. He suddenly got drowned while bathing in the river. Locals immediately started searching for him but couldn’t find his whereabouts.
Later, the Police alongwith SDRF started a search operation in Barak river. But till now, they couldn’t locate Biprojit.
Speaking to reporters a relative of Biprojit said, “Biprojit came to his relative’s house for attending a wedding as his exams recently concluded. Today is the second day of wedding. Biprojit went for bathing in the river alongwith his aunts and cousins. But tragically he got drowned in the river despite knowing swimming. He has a mother and sister at home.”
