SEBA announces new date for HSLC General Science Exam, to be held on March 30
The Board of Secondary Education, Assam yesterday canceled the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination for the General Science (C3) subject, which was scheduled to be held on Monday, March 13, 2023. The decision was taken due to the availability of a handwritten model question paper of the exam, which became viral on social media platforms.
The announcement was made in a statement released by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam. The statement also mentioned that the Board of Secondary Education, Assam had initiated an inquiry into the matter and will take necessary action in due course. The order was signed by N.J. Sarmah, Controller of Examinations, Board of Secondary Education.
Today, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam has again issued another notification stating that the HSLC General Science (C3) exam scheduled on March 13, 2023 which was subsequently cancelled vide notification no. SEBA/EX/HOLD/65/2022-23/48 dated March 12, 2023 will now be held on March 30, 2023 from 9 am in all examination centres of the state. The notification was signed by the Principal Controller of Examinations, SEBA dated March 13, 2023.
Taking cognizance of the paper leak incident, Assam DGP GP Singh wrote on Facebook, “Reference media reports of leakage of General Science (C3) question paper of HSLC examination scheduled for March 13th 2023 conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Assam – A criminal case has been registered and would be investigated by CID Assam. We would bring the culprits and conspirators to law.”
