Road mishap in Kalain leaves five including 13-year-old critically wounded; Locals protest against truckers for reckless driving
Another road mishap in the accident-prone Kalain – Silchar road’s Ranighat area. A 407 truck collided head-on with an autorickshaw driving with five passengers. All five got critically injured due to the impact of the collision. Among the wounded, there is one woman, one child, an autorickshaw driver, and another male individual.
The ambulance was called in by the locals and the wounded individuals left for treatment. Locals who are eyewitness to the accident informed that 13-year-old Joynagar’s Minar Hussain’s condition’s looked critical. He is a student of the Fakar Jalil Madrassa.
Apart from Hussain, the other wounded have been identified as Jahirul Islam (40), Didarun Islam (25), Sharifa Begum (50) and Minaj Alom (14).
The autorickshaw lost its shape due to the impact and it was difficult for the locals to rescue the wounded passengers. Police also joined hands in the rescue operation and eventually, the wounded passengers were escorted to the Ambulance. The locals also protested against the truckers who drive at high speed. According to them, the accidents occur due to reckless driving of these truckers.
