Drugs worth 4 crores seized in Cachar by Police, Two arrested

The Cachar Police seized 40,000 Yaba tablets in an operation conducted last night. Two persons named Sarul Islam Majumder and Samir Hussain Laskar of Berenga Part III have been arrested in connection with the smuggling of Yaba tablets. Cachar Superintendent of Police Numal Mahatta said in a press conference that the market value of the recovered tablets is over four crore rupees.

Originally, these tablets were brought from outside the state and transported through Cachar for the purpose of smuggling to other states. The area from where the drugs have been recovered is becoming a drugs hub day by day.

Speaking to reporters SP Numal Mahatta said, “Based on secret input we conducted a special operation in Baghador area last night against drugs. During the operation we seized 40,000 Yaba tablets and arrested two people named Sarul Islam Majumder and Samir Hussain Laskar of Berenga Part III involved in the smuggling of the seized narcotics. The market price of the seized Yaba tablets is around 4 crore rupees. Our operation is ongoing.”
