“Chief Minister should apologise for behaving rudely with Barak BJP delegation”: BDF Chief Convenor Pradip Dutta Roy
A BJP delegation led by MP Rajdeep Roy recently met Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to raise objections over the delimitation draft. But sources in the media revealed that the Chief Minister did not consider their objections, on the contrary, he behaved rudely towards them. The BDF has reacted to the entire incident.
In a recorded press message today, Chief Convenor of Barak Democratic Front Pradip Dutta Roy said that the people of entire Barak Valley feel insulted by such behavior of the Chief Minister. He said that most of those who were in this delegation were elected representatives of Barak Valley. No matter which party they belong to, they have been elected because they have the trust and faith of a large section of the people of this Valley. If the Chief Minister himself, being an elected representative, behaves like this towards them then it is tantamount to insulting Barak’s voters. So the Chief Minister should apologise to the people of Barak Valley for this incident.
Dutta Roy also said that the Chief Minister has told there is no dissatisfaction in the state with regard to the delimitation draft. He asked if that is the case then what is the reason for the police administration’s warfare behavior two days before the proposed bandh? The Valley never saw such a long march before. That means they were trying to thwart a possible agitation. The Chief Minister also said that the Indians living in Barak are happy with the draft. Dutta Roy questioned if those who went to raise objections are not Indians or were they not elected by the votes of Indians.
Dutta Roy said that Rajdeep Roy had to be humiliated despite his late father Bimalangshu Roy being one of the masterminds behind the rise of BJP in the state. He was also once the Leader of Opposition in the Assam Legislative Assembly. He had received acceptance at all levels and was always vocal in Barak’s interests. But the person who treated Rajdeep Roy like this had nothing to do with the old BJP, he came from Congress to BJP. Dutta Roy called on Barak’s BJP leadership to review the entire matter and take further steps for Barak’s sake.
Convener Hrishikesh Dey informed this news in a press release on behalf of BDF Media Cell.
