Eviction drive at Tapang by Cachar District Administration, 28 bighas of land freed from encroachment

The drive against encroachment is continuing in Cachar. This time, the District Administration bulldozed houses and some shops at Tapang. Around 28 bighas of land were freed from encroachment by the administration.

At Jyotirkona village located in Tapang block, many people built houses and shops by illegally occupying around 28 bighas of government land. Despite repeated notices issued to the encroachers by the District Administration to vacate the land, they ignored the pleas. Finally, the administration had to use bulldozer for freeing the land from encroachment in presence of tight security.

Around 8 shops were bulldozed alongwith houses during the eviction drive which went on for several hours. Meanwhile, the people of the village have expressed satisfaction at the eviction drive and thanked the Chief Minister alongwith Cachar District Administration.
