Road Accident Claims Life of Mentally Disabled Youth in Kalain

In a heart-wrenching incident that unfolded on Friday morning, a mentally disabled individual named Rinku Namashudra tragically lost his life in a road accident on the left side of National Highway No. 6 in the Bhatpara area near Kalain.

Rinku Namashudra, a 25-year-old youth from Dhuil Kandi in Gumra Khelma, had been confined to his home by his parents for the past five years due to his mental condition. However, at three o’clock on Thursday night, he managed to break free from his house, leading to a frantic search by his family.

It wasn’t until three hours later that Rinku’s family received the devastating news of the accident. They arrived at the Kalain Police Station, after hearing information about a dead body, and confirmed the victim’s identity to be their son. It is believed that a heavy vehicle passed over Rinku’s head, leading to his tragic demise.

The Kalain Police recovered Rinku’s body at 5 am in the morning and have held it at the Kalain Police Station pending further procedures. The body will be sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The news of this tragic incident has left the community in Kalain in mourning, as they are yet to come to terms with the loss of a young life in such a heartbreaking manner.
