The Mizoram-Cachar Frontier of the BSF shoulders the responsibility of guarding 475 kilometers of the international border with Bangladesh, in addition to securing the borders of South Assam in Barak Valley. Over the past year, the Frontier has showcased its vigilance and efficacy by seizing a substantial amount of contraband, including arms, ammunition, narcotics, and illicit goods. Singh proudly emphasized, “We guard almost 6000 kilometers of international border, 4000 with Bangladesh and 2000 with Pakistan. Our responsibilities extend beyond border protection to combating infiltration, monitoring drug trafficking, and preventing illegal cattle movement, presenting us with numerous challenges.”
