“Meitei, Nath, Bishnupriya have been betrayed by BJP and will vote out Parimal,” Aminul Hoque Laskar

Former Deputy Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly and MLA of Sonai, Aminul Hoque Laskar recently resigned from BJP and joined Congress. Today, he addressed a gathering of Congress workers at the Congress Bhawan and attempted to infuse fresh enthusiasm among the party workers.

He said that when he moved to BJP in 2014, BJP was neither in Delhi nor in Dispur and now in 2024, in a similar situation, he is joining Congress when the party isn’t anywhere in the governance.

“BJP says it is World’s largest political party and yet, when it came to fielding an SC candidate from Silchar, they had to go to Parimal Suklabaidya who is like my older brother but a big failure as an MLA,” Laskar said today.

“Parimal’s sun will set and Surya Kanta will rise in the upcoming general elections to the Lok Sabha,” he said adding enthusiasm to the campaign for Surya Kanta Sarkar, the Congress Candidate to contest in the upcoming elections.

“Our journalist friends must be wondering how is Surya Kanta’s victory possible when all polls predict a historic win for BJP. I will explain. Congress will get 99% of the minority votes. Then the Nath Community who has been betrayed by the BJP through delimitation of Borkhola will vote for Congress. The Meitei community who had the dreams of having an MLA from Lakhipur have been betrayed as the delimited constituency of Lakhipur will never have a Meitei Manipuri as an MLA. Same has happened to the Bishnupriya Community of Ratabari. Meitei, Nath, Bishnupriya have been betrayed by BJP and they will vote out Parimal Suklabaidya,” former BJP MLA added.

There is a faction in Congress and there are many veteran Congressmen who are offended by Aminul Hoque Laskar’s inclusion in the party and rise to power. Laskar addressed them today and said, “Give me a chance to resolve and I will. I am a soldier in the party and we need to fight together to bring glory to the party. No point showing a fist from distance let’s shake hands and fend off the differences,” asserted Laskar.
