AUS to File FIR Over Fake Exam Cancellation Notice; Scheduled TDC Exams to Proceed

Assam University has issued an urgent clarification regarding a fraudulent notice that has been circulating since late this evening. The fake notice as seen, undersigned by Registrar of the varsity, Pradosh Kiran Nath falsely claims that the TDC (CBCS) exams for affiliated colleges, scheduled for June 19th and 20th, 2024, have been cancelled.

In an official statement, the Registrar of Assam University firmly denied issuing any such notice. “No such notice has been issued from this end,” stated the Registrar. The university assured students that the TDC (CBCS) exam scheduled for June 19th, 2024, will proceed as planned. A decision regarding the exam on June 20th, 2024, will be made tomorrow after assessing the situation amidst the torrential rainfall.

The Registrar highlighted the urgency of adhering to the exam schedule due to previous deferments last month, emphasizing the university’s commitment to avoid further delays and ensure the timely completion of exams to safeguard students’ academic progress. Suprabir Dutta Roy, the Exam Controller of Assam University informed Barak Bulletin about legal actions against the propelled fake news.

The university also announced plans to file an official complaint and FIR regarding the circulation of the fake notice.
