Consumed by Suspicion, Karimganj Man Murders Wife, Surrenders to Police

In a shocking incident in Karimganj’s Nilambazar area, a man has surrendered after allegedly murdering his wife by drowning her in a pond.

The incident took place in Bhagirkhala village under the jurisdiction of Nilambazar Police Station. The accused, Abubakkar, reportedly dragged his wife, Siddika Begum, from their home and drowned her in a nearby pond. Following the act, Abubakkar surrendered to the police the next morning.

According to the investigation, Abubakkar frequently doubted his wife, which led to this tragic outcome. The locals confirmed that Abubakkar was highly suspicious of Siddika, which created significant tension in their relationship.

SP Karimganj, Partha Pratim Das, informed Barak Bulletin that the husband’s suspicions were the primary motive behind the murder. He added that Abubakkar surrendered voluntarily, confessing to the crime.

After committing the crime, it is believed that Abubakkar’s conscience urged him to surrender to the authorities, leading to his eventual confession.

Further investigation into this case is ongoing, with police examining all aspects to ensure justice is served.
