Ujjwal Bora Death Case : Truck Driver Injured in Shooting After Fleeing from Police

In a developing story, the driver of a truck, identified as Abhijit Sabdakar, has been injured after being shot by the Police. The incident occurred last night during a crime scene reconstruction at the location of the murder of police constable Ujjwal Bora. Sabdakar is believed to be involved in the crime, which shocked the region.

As part of the ongoing investigation, Sabdakar was taken to the crime scene for reenactment of the events leading up to the murder. At the scene, he reportedly attempted to flee after grabbing a rifle from the police officers. In response, law enforcement fired a warning shot into the air to stop him. When Sabdakar continued to escape and did not surrender, officers fired a second round of shots, injuring him.

The situation is being closely monitored, and authorities have assured that an investigation into the use of force will be conducted. The condition of Abhijit Shobdokar is not yet known, but he was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment following the incident. Police have not yet provided further details on the case.

The Police authorities quoted “In connection with Bazarichhera PS Case No. 202/24, U/S 281/105/3(5) BNS, the accused, namely Abhijit Sabdakar, was brought to the spot where he knocked down Late UB Constable Ujjwal Borah and was also dragged to the place along with independent witnesses. Accordingly, he agreed to show us the spot. At first, he showed us where he knocked down Lt. UBC Ujjwal Borah, and he led us to the last point. While he was showing, the accused person suddenly snatched the government rifle of police personal, and pointed it at the police team. He was instructed to drop the rifle, but he did not obey our direction. For the safety of the police team, one round was fired in the air, but he did not drop the rifle; therefore, one round was fired into his right leg, and the accused person was apprehended.”

It may be mentioned here that the truck involved in a fatal accident was found carrying a significant amount of illicit drugs. The truck, identified as TR 01 AU 1672, was involved in the accident that led to the tragic death of Police Constable Ujjwal Bora. The driver and his associate were arrested by the authorities in connection with the incident.

Upon investigation, authorities discovered a large quantity of 20,000 yaba tablets hidden inside the truck. The value of the seized narcotics is estimated to be a staggering five crore rupees.

The truck driver, Abhijit Sabdakar, and his accomplice, handyman Giyas Uddin, were apprehended by the police. Initial reports suggested that the drugs were being transported for illegal distribution, though the full scope of the operation is still under investigation.

The tragic incident occurred when the truck crashed, leading to the death of Constable Ujjwal Bora, who had reportedly been pursuing the vehicle.
