Cachar: Youth Electrocuted While Repairing Refrigerator in Joypur

In a tragic incident, a 20-year-old youth lost his life after being electrocuted while repairing a refrigerator on Saturday evening (June 5). The deceased has been identified as Biswajit Shuklabaidya, a resident of Joypur Part 1.

According to reports, Biswajit, who worked as an electrician, had gone to the residence of Munni Dhobi in Rajabazar, Joypur to fix a faulty refrigerator. While attempting the repair, he was electrocuted and collapsed on the spot. Though locals rushed him to Joypur Primary Health Centre immediately, doctors there declared him “brought dead”.

Biswajit was well-known in the area for his electrical repair work and often visited homes to fix wiring and appliances. Saturday’s unfortunate call turned out to be fatal.

Joypur police reached the hospital after being informed, took custody of the body, and sent it to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. The body was handed over to the family on Sunday after the completion of formalities.

The sudden and untimely death of the young electrician has cast a pall of gloom over the Joypur area, with locals mourning the loss of a hardworking youth.
