4-Year-Old Girl Raped in Silchar’s Sonai Road: Two Arrested, Main Accused on the Run

Trigger Warning: In a horrifying incident that has left the residents of Silchar’s Sonai Road area reeling in shock and outrage, a 4-year-old girl has allegedly been raped and tortured by three men over multiple days. The incident came to light through viral videos on Facebook on Monday (September 1). The child, who lived with her widowed mother in a rented building, suffered severe injuries, including bruises on her private parts and a bite mark on her chin. The perpetrators, who operated a fast food shop in the same area, blackmailed the mother into silence by threatening to kill her daughter if she spoke out.

The accused have been identified as Sahidul Choudhury, his younger brother Wahidul Ahmed Choudhury, and their maternal uncle Kabir Ahmed Choudhury, all residents of Maizgram in Sribhumi. The family had been renting a home in Sonai Road’s Peshkar Lane and running a fast food outlet named FRS Momo. The victim’s mother and daughter, who worked as a helper for the family, shared the same building on rent.

According to the mother’s allegations, Sahidul Choudhury raped the girl as recently as two nights ago, with his brother and uncle not only witnessing the act but also actively supporting it. Kabir Ahmed Choudhury is further accused of inflicting additional torture by feeding the child green chillies and applying them to her body to cause pain. Fellow tenants reported hearing the girl’s cries every night but were silenced by the mother’s pleas, as she was under constant threats from the accused.

The breakthrough came on Monday morning when the mother, unable to bear the trauma any longer, confided in the building’s landlady. The landlady promptly informed a local Group Member of the Panchayat, who mobilized a few residents to confront the accused. The group then handed over Wahidul Ahmed Choudhury and Kabir Ahmed Choudhury to the Rangirkhari Police. Sahidul Choudhury, the primary accused, managed to flee the scene and is believed to have returned to his home in Sribhumi, as per statements from the co-accused.

The Cachar Police’s Rangirkhari Town Outpost team swiftly responded, arresting the two men and launching a manhunt for Sahidul.

Local residents expressed their fury over the inhuman incident, with many demanding the strictest possible punishment for the perpetrators. “We heard her screams night after night, but the mother was terrified. This is unimaginable brutality against an innocent child,” said one tenant. The landlady and the group that played a pivotal role in exposing the crime, urged the community to support the victim’s family during this ordeal.
