IPL And India U-19 Players Add Star Power To Barak Premier League In Silchar

The Barak Premier League (BPL), organised by the Silchar Veteran Cricketers Club (SVCC), is witnessing an exciting phase as players associated with the Indian Premier League (IPL) and members of the India Under-19 circuit take part in the tournament in Silchar.

The tournament began on March 8 and will continue till March 15, with two matches being played every day at the District Sports Association (DSA) ground. The gallery has been kept open for spectators free of cost, allowing cricket lovers to watch the action live.

Among the notable players participating is Lalit Yadav (Tarun), who plays for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL. Yadav will play for Navaraj Warriors in the tournament.

IPL cricketer Virat Singh, who earlier played for Sunrisers Hyderabad, is also set to feature in the competition. He will be playing for Dotmeds XI on March 12.

Another player attracting attention is Vans Vedi, associated with Chennai Super Kings, who will also represent Navaraj Warriors in the BPL.

On behalf of the organising committee, Dr Sidhartha Bhattacharjee briefs about the players’ travelling and the matches scheduled. He lauded the efforts put in by the respective franchises to make the annual tournament into a spectacle for the fans to enjoy. He urged cricket fans to encourage these travelling players and their local teammates by supporting them from the sidelines

The participation of such players is expected to significantly raise the profile of the tournament and give local cricket fans a rare chance to watch professional cricketers in action from close quarters.
