Katigorah Border Villagers Interact with SSP Cachar, Share Their Concerns

Cachar Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjib Kumar Saikia, APS, held an interaction session with residents of villages along the Indo-Bangla border at Katigorah on Saturday (July 25) as part of a programme titled “Senior Officials Interaction with Border Village People.”

Addressing the gathering, Saikia said he had come with a special purpose after attending a conference chaired by the Union Home Minister in New Delhi on July 9. He said he wanted to share important messages and future plans for India’s border areas that were discussed during the meeting.

“Today I came here for a special reason. On the 9th, I attended a conference with the Honourable Home Minister in Delhi, and I came here to share a few messages from there. I also want to discuss what his plans are for the bordering areas of India in the future,” Saikia told the gathering.

The SSP said he would briefly explain the key points discussed during the conference and also share his own observations regarding the border region. He further assured the villagers that the concerns and issues raised during the interaction would be taken up and addressed by the district police.

The programme provided an opportunity for people living in the border villages to directly interact with senior police officials and place their concerns before the administration. The session focused on strengthening communication between the police and border residents while discussing matters related to the welfare and development of the border region.
