Silchar Civic Poll Results Tomorrow, Administration Ready for Counting

Counting of votes for the Silchar Municipal Corporation election will be held on Tuesday, 6 October, with the administration completing all necessary preparations for the process.

According to an administrative source, counting will begin at 8am at Ramnagar ISBT. The counting will be conducted in seven halls, with 14 tables in each hall. Each ward will have three or four tables assigned for counting.

The counting is expected to be completed in a maximum of four rounds. Wards with fewer votes are likely to finish within three rounds, the source said.

Ballot boxes from all 40 wards have been kept in strong rooms following polling. On Tuesday, the ballot boxes will be brought out from the strong rooms at around 7.30am before counting begins.

For smooth and orderly counting, each table will have a Micro Observer, Counting Assistant and Counting Supervisor. Each hall will also have two Assistant Returning Officers (AROs).

DDC Rajib Roy, serving as the Chief Election Officer, and Cachar Commissioner Rahul Kumar Gupta, the Returning Officer, will oversee the overall counting process.

Around 700 government employees will be deployed for counting-related duties.

An administrative source estimated that the ballot counting could continue until the evening. The entire process is expected to be wrapped up by around 8pm, depending on the progress of counting.
