Dead body of class-II student recovered from Hailakandi river

The dead body of an 11-year-old boy, who drowned in Dhaleshwari river at Chiparsangan in Hailakandi district on Tuesday, was recovered on Wednesday.

According to reports, the body of Tamim Iqbal, son of Fariz Uddin, had slipped off a bamboo bridge and fell in the river around 9am on Tuesday morning. The matter was thereafter informed to Algapur police, following which a police team along with SDRF reached the spot and a search operation was carried out, however he could not be rescued.

His body was spotted floating on the river around 7am this morning. Receiving the information, police reached the spot, recovered the body from the river and sent it Hailakandi civil hospital for autopsy.

The news of the kid’s death descended gloom all over, leaving his family members shattered. Local residents, who had gathered in large numbers to have a glimpse of the boy, expressed deep sorrow over the incident and conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family members.

Tamim was a class-II student of A.K. Memorial Academy.
