Another road mishap, mahasadak in Gossaipur area turning out to be dangerous

A 40-year-old man was critically injured in a road mishap on the East-West corridor (Mahasadak) at Gossaipur under Udharbond constituency in Cachar district on Thursday.

According to reports, the accident took place around 9am this morning when a mini-truck, which was on its way to Udharbond, hit an auto-rickshaw from behind as a result of which the man Kamal Uddin Laskar, who was in the auto, was gravely injured.

Kamal, son of Jahar Uddin Laskar, is a resident of Gossaipur (Part-II).

The auto-rickshaw, after being hit by the mini-truck, was mangled and the other passengers on it were also somewhat injured. Kamal, who sustained grievous injuries, was recovered by onlookers and sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. The truck fled the spot immediately after the incident.

 

 

Receiving the information, a team of Udharbond police reached the spot and took the mangled auto-rickshaw into custody.

Locals said it was the second accident at Gossaipur in the past couple of weeks. A school student was killed in a road mishap last week.
