About Us:
Barak Bulletin is a wholly owned subsidiary of Barak Darpan Private Limited registered as a private entity. Barak Bulletin intends to offer people of Barak Valley that one-stop destination, where they can land and gather all the requisite information directly or indirectly related to the Valley. The website was launched on February 2, 2018, and has received phenomenal success so far.
Barak Bulletin is run by the same team that has been operating My Silchar and Silchar (Bengali) Facebook pages since last six years. This is a team that believes in only accurate and credible journalism and lives to execute that. Our motto is ‘to shed light on the dark and to appreciate the bright’. We pick up important issues, interview people, bring out human interest and present it as a piece of news. While on one side, we expose the loopholes to the people of Barak Valley, on the other hand, we take the amazing stories of Barak Valley to the world.
The numbers:
We get about 4 lakh unique visitors per month on the website.
62% of the total traffic prefers English while 38% read the stories in Bengali.
Assam is divided into three major parts – Brahmaputra Valley, Barak Valley, and Hills. Barak Valley consists of three districts – Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi and 58% of our total traffic comes from these three districts.

With over 35 years of experience in government service and more than 60 years of living in Silchar, he brings to the table a bundle of guidance. As the Chairman of the governing body, he gives direction to
the business.

Archana (Purkayastha) Bhattacharjee, Co-founder and Executive Editor:
In the past, Archana has worked with the brightest journalists and marvelous editors. She was also associated with Doordarshan. News, journalism and literature have always been at the center of whatever she did all her life. A former Sonar Cachar journalist, a current German Language teacher in a pre-university institution, Archana brings editorial guidance to the table and steers the group of journalists working in both permanent and freelance capacity.

Animesh Bhattacharjee, Co-Founder and Independent Director:
Animesh has served the country in uniform and after retiring from Indian Air force he joined the IT sector and is currently working with a tech giant in Pune. He brings on the table his tech expertise and very much is the reason why Barak Bulletin is the fastest loading website in the entire North East. He also guides the sales team in Barak Valley to help them come up with innovative ad sales solution.

Anirban Roy Choudhury, Independent Director:
Born and brought up in Silchar, Anirban has always been a big enthusiast of journalism. Currently, he is employed with a national broadsheet and has over five years of experience in the field. He has worked with NDTV and DNA before joining trade journalism. He is one of the founders of the organisation and keeps a close eye at the daily functioning of the website. He is always a call away for the reporters and often pitches in with editorial ideas.
