ACKSHA Condemns Attack on Hindus in Bangladesh, Calls for Indian Military Intervention

The Central Committee of the All Cachar Karimganj Hailakandi Students’ Association (ACKSHA) held a press conference today at the Silchar Press Club to address their concerns about the persecution of minorities in Bangladesh.

On Sunday evening, December 1, speaking at the meet, Rupam Nandi Purkayastha, advisor of ACKSHA, expressed strong condemnation of the atrocities reportedly being committed under the directive of US President Joe Biden and with the involvement of Muhammad Yunus. He described the situation as “heinous crimes against minorities” and urged the Indian government to respond decisively.

“The response should be in a tone that Bangladesh understands. Military power should be used to resist the Yunus government; otherwise, they won’t understand,” said Purkayastha.

He highlighted the imprisonment and torture of Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, along with the jailing of another saint, calling these incidents part of a targeted attack on Hindus. Purkayastha accused countries like Pakistan and China of aiding Bangladesh in its actions against minorities and their efforts to ban ISKCON in Bangladesh.

ACKSHA has demanded the unconditional release of Chinmoy Das Brahmachari and stressed that India must not remain silent. “This is a targeted attack on Hindus, and extremist forces are acting against minorities in Bangladesh along with Yunus,” he added.

The association extended its support to the Indian Forum for Bangladesh Peace, which is organising a mass rally on December 3, urging all citizens and students to participate.

“No civilised country can accept these atrocities. Hindus, Buddhists, and other minorities should have the peace and security to practise their religion without fear. We demand lawful administration in Bangladesh to ensure this,” said Purkayastha, calling the current state of affairs “unforgivable by history.”
