Admission going on at NIELIT Silchar for courses including the CCC – mandatory for many Govt. Jobs

NIELIT, Under MeitY, Govt of India: National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT),(erstwhile DOEACC Society), an Autonomous Scientific Society under the administrative control of Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MoE&IT), Government of India, was set up to carry out Human Resource Development and related activities in the area of Information, Electronics & Communications Technology (IECT).

NIELIT is engaged both in Formal & Non-Formal Education in the area of IECT besides development of industry-oriented quality education and training programmes in the state-of-the-art areas. NIELIT has endeavoured to establish standards to be the country’s premier institution for Examination and Certification in the field of IECT. It is also one of the National Examination Body, which accredits institutes/organizations for conducting courses in IT in the non-formal sector.

As on date, NIELIT has forty-seven (47) centres located across major cities of India. Silchar Extension Centre was set up in the year 2013 by the then Secretary of MoE&IT, Government of India, Sri J Satyanarana, IAS.

Silchar Centre conducts training in various sectors of Computer Software and Hardware –

• 2 to 5 months short term courses
• 6 months diploma in Computer Application
• 1 year diploma in Computer Application (After 10+2)
• 1 year Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application.
• NSQF Course on – Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Internet of Things, Machine Learning and more
• The institution provides Summer Internship programs and Project guidance for College Students (B.Sc. and B.Tech.)
• The Institute is also known for providing training to State Government School Teachers in the area of Information and Communication Technology.

NIELIT Silchar Centre has two Computer Labs of Capacity 50 PCs, high speed internet connectivity for all students, Smart Class Room, 24 hrs power back up, job placement assistance and more. All the faculties of NIELIT Silchar Centre have 5+ years of experience in the IT Domain and possess qualification like MTech, MCA and MSc (Computer Science). NIELIT Courses are in high demand among industry and also in government sector.

The CCC course (Duration 80 hrs) offered by NIELIT has been recognized as a mandatory qualification where computer knowledge is required of state government jobs in the states of – Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Mizoram, Daman and Diu.

Admission is open for any time in Silchar Centre. There has been a provision of free course fees for SC/ST category of students and scholarship scheme for General category of students here.
