ADRE 2024: Karimganj District on High Alert, Restrictions in Place for ADRE Exams
In anticipation of the upcoming Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) for Class III posts, the Karimganj District Administration has taken strict steps to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the exam. With employment opportunities being scarce, aspirants across the state are eagerly waiting for their chance to secure a government job, and the stakes could not be higher.
With thousands of candidates preparing for the ADRE, the examination brings with it a wave of hope for many unemployed individuals. In today’s difficult job market, a government job represents not only stability but also a sense of security and status for aspiring candidates. However, the competition is set to be fierce as an overwhelming number of people have applied to take the exam. Securing a position in the ranks of successful candidates will be a monumental challenge, yet it is one that countless individuals are willing to take on.
Given the importance of this exam, ensuring that the process is conducted in a fair and transparent manner is of utmost priority. To this effect, the District Magistrate of Karimganj, Mridul Yadav, IAS, has issued a prohibitory order under Section 163 of the BNSS Act. The aim is to prevent any unlawful activities or disturbances that could interfere with the examination process. In a statement, the administration expressed concerns about potential disruptions that could arise in and around the 37 exam centres across the district on the 15th and 29th of September 2024.
The following activities have been prohibited on both exam days, from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, within a 100-metre radius of all examination centres:
1. Entry of unauthorised persons and unnecessary crowding within the examination premises or its surrounding area.
2. Carrying unauthorised and suspicious items, including mobile phones or electronic devices, by examinees.
3. Carrying any weapons, explosives, or suspicious objects within the examination zone.
4. Obstruction of traffic or illegal parking of unauthorised vehicles within the restricted area.
5. Any act of using unfair means or other violations under “The Assam Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2024,” including undue possession or disclosure of question papers.
6. Engaging in any form of malpractice by individuals involved in conducting the examination.
As of the time of writing this report, no similar notification has been noticed from the administrations of Cachar or Hailakandi districts. However, considering the importance of this examination and its implications, it is expected that the said districts may follow suit with similar restrictions.
For all aspiring candidates, this is a crucial time. The road to success in these exams is not an easy one, but for those who have been preparing diligently, this could be the opportunity they’ve been waiting for. Wishing all candidates the very best of luck in their pursuit of a brighter future. Stay focused, give your best.
